The weather couldn’t decide what sort of spring it wanted to be, so it tried them all out. Mornings might bring freak downpours that steamed away into summer-like heat and sun, or misty banks of fog could give way to pollen-laden gusts that tattered the emergent flowers. Newsrooms hired temporary counselor services to support a meteorological staff increasingly confused and neurotic about the constant flux.
