For those who preferred private settings to the group classes offered at the college, a variety of instrument-specific tutors offered lessons. Most evenings of the week, people around town opened their homes to teachers and the stumbling music of self-improvement. For any who could not source more exotic selections, like triangle or Atlantean lyre, teachers gave instruction in home offices with their own instruments.
