While it wouldn't be the first time one of their dates got interrupted for the sake of science, Jamil couldn't really blame Kim for the drifts of snow that began to filter down, inexplicably, from the ceiling of the diner. In an instant, Kim had bustled his way behind the counter, tucked wings still managing to send a salt shaker spinning along the bar, and was asking the waitress when they last had their walk-in serviced and did she know if their thermostat had a weirdness setting. Jamil relocated himself and his slice of pie to a barstool, and he watched fondly as his boyfriend geeked out, the snow sifting down light as feathers over the jukebox and the neon signs.
