In their dark hats, they ducked between buildings and under bridges, behind trees and into alleyways. They sketched their runes in ballpoint and sidewalk chalk and lipstick, in out of the way places. With runes for prosperity and health, hope and courage, good cheer and good luck, they blessed their town for another month.
