Those in the know generally referred to all their varied manifestations as the Historical Society, preferring to leave it at that and summarily avoid the lot of them. Fewer still, those brave or greedy or foolish enough, allowed themselves to be given jobs seeking out the old places in the world, for the Society could not preserve what it did not first rescue from Time.
