Their hobby was devising and setting boobytraps, from simple glitter bombs to elaborate Rube Goldberg machines that culminated in a squirrel stealing your bag of chips. They had started out putting them around their apartment and the surrounding spaces, as punishment for neighbors who failed to observe basic courtesies like not smoking right outside their bedroom window. They gradually expanded to the rest of the town, their own peculiar effort to encourage good behavior and, if need be, a more sparkly population.
