The clinic, in addition to being a convenient option for minor injuries and infections, specialized in treating those ailments and concerns for which the big city hospital was ill-equipped. Werewolves needed flea treatment that was more fashionable than a plastic collar, interspecies couples needed safe sex supplies and birth control not thwarted by anatomical incompatibilities, and time travelers needed vaccinations for extinct diseases. Sometimes, people just liked to go somewhere that they knew had seen far weirder problems than theirs, somewhere they didn’t feel judged as deviating too far from some mythical normal no one ever seemed actually to live.
