scrubjayspeaks: Town sign for (fictional) Lake Lewisia, showing icons of mountains and a lake with the letter L (Lake Lewisia)
While Into The Arc Welder only achieved status as a sleeper hit several years after it first aired on one of the local public access channels, it kicked off a string of more immediately popular unreality shows. Most followed the physical challenge structure, requiring contestants to clear non-Euclidean obstacle courses, though several quiz shows tested their knowledge of branched reality history. The Smoke Train Project even saw broader appeal outside the area and won an Emmy for visual effects, an award which baffled a camera team still recovering from a number of injuries sustained whilst filming on the very lip of a reality warp hole.
