plague journaling
Apr. 13th, 2020 04:43 pmOh, the irony! I am sick, not with covid, but with an absolutely brutal stomach bug. My entire gastrointestinal system seems to have been replaced by dead rats and active landmines. I slept approximately two hours last night.
I was very useful at work today, I'm sure.
The new kid on the team, fresh out of high school, informed me today that she's leaving in a few weeks to move back in with her parents in another state. She was rather open about the fact that her mental health has been suffering massively under these circumstances. Trying to be an independent adult is hard enough right now, but trying to do that for the first time is proving impossible for her.
I imagine that's not unique. I know there's been much made about how long it took many in my generation to move out from their parents' homes. It seems likely that the next generation will also come of age in a world where striking out on your own is, if not impossible, certainly ill-advised.
