Today's Keyboard Smash

So, I finally gave in and used the work internet for more than five seconds. Not for doomscrolling, though, which was the last reason I considered it. No, I wanted to download games. And better their usage stats than mine, you know?

Now that I have the new iPad up and running, I have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to storage space. Almost ten times what the old one has. I'm not in any hurry to fill that up, and I don't need to be buying a bunch of new apps at the moment either. There are several games I long since removed from the old one, though, on the grounds of being particularly massive. Most of them are music/rhythm games, which I used to really enjoy but haven't played in years now.

So I queued up the downloads on my breaks and let it sit in my locker. The work internet is apparently really slow, but what do I care? It was good enough to get two games downloaded this afternoon.

Normally, I would do this sort of thing at the library. Since the library is now sadly lacking in tables, chairs, and permission to linger, I haven't been able to make use of somebody else's internet. And I'm a bit worried about my data cap this month, since setting up the iPad in the first place required so much downloading.

All of this is a welcome distraction from the letter I got today. The company that makes the heart monitor I wore is letting me know that my insurance is reviewing my claim. And it's probably fine. I guess. This doctor has been good about NOT suggesting diagnostics that won't get covered by the insurance, so hopefully he didn't set me up for something expensive for an initial consultation. But the letter includes mentions of financial assistance being available, which is NEVER A GOOD SIGN. *teakettle noises*
