Lake Lewisia #708
Aug. 4th, 2021 04:36 pmThere were certain things the fae simply did not do: touch cold iron, or spurn hospitality, or work anything so crass as a trade. Exceptions were made for bargains--a night of spinning, one set of shoes of questionable provenance and dubious enchantment, the ordinary, passing needs of a fae about town--but to work daily was the lot of humans. When her family tried to explain all of this to her, her hands still surely stitching up another new blouse for a customer, she calmly informed them that she had elected to lean into the role of the trickster, and it was poor form on their part to complain so about being the butts of an elaborate, lifelong fae prank.
