Originally bred to hunt unicorns in the Middle Ages, Charente Hounds can sense purity, kindness, and general goodwill up to three miles away. As their original blood sport fell out of favor, the breed found new purpose as a companion animal, known for its discerning taste regarding who should be allowed near their masters. In modern times, they are popularly known as the Boyfriend Test, as they will often encourage their owners to spend more time with kind individuals, while subtly driving off unsuitable suitors.
