scrubjayspeaks: hand holding pen over notebook (done this week)
Well, obviously, by the end of the day on Sunday last, I knew I had covid. Because of course I would get it. Let's not be children about this. Popped a fever Monday morning and tested positive at home. Had to go out and get tested formally for work as well. Which, wow, let me just say: driving was not a task I was really cut out for just then, but okay. Nothing several days of lying on the couch quietly and mainlining Tylenol can't fix, apparently...

So out of work for the whole week. I should be able to go back Tuesday, but since the person who has to give me clearance wasn't in this week and didn't respond to my email (even though they said they would be doing so), I can't actually go back yet.

*shrug* No skin off my nose, you know? I've got state-mandated PTO (and am prepared to kick and scream about it if needed), and I've got my regular PTO, and I've got a real lack of fucks to give apart from that. The irony is not lost on me that all this has happened when a) we're slowed down due to computer system updates and b) I finally have a trainee who can fill in for me for what little work there is to do. The universe likes to thoroughly stomp me in the kidneys and then hand me a lovely get-well bouquet.

Lewisia: 3 new pieces written

Gratitude journaling: 35 new entries

Tumblr queue: 28 posts added

Day job: none hours with left beef!

Cooking: cake pan cake and frosting, because if ever there was a week that called for some chocolate cake...

Reading: finished The Lost World, started John Darnielle's Devil House, also listening to the audiobook of Truly, Devious (which I've read before), because what else is there to do in quarantine but read books and eat cake?
