The misunderstanding over Mother's Day weekend is on its way to being successfully cleared up, thanks to some emergency translation work from the community college xenolinguistics department. It turns out the entities that manifested around town on Sunday believed we were tragically lacking in mothers and offered themselves as adoptive maternal figures. Given the species and scale differences, we think our new mothers did a pretty good job making sense of the situation, and those of us genuinely in need of mothers have gratefully accepted our new familial ties and are settling in.
