That was before he met the salamander folk, basking on the shores of a natural spring, trading their stories among the mossy undergrowth. He found the thing he loved most about finally being larger than someone was the chance to be careful with them, to turn all his outsized strength to handling damp and delicate limbs tenderly, and the salamander folk called their new friend a gentle giant.
