The community college entomology department will be raising funds through the sale of eternal lightning bug lanterns in the park, perfect for these dark nights. These softly glowing glass lanterns contain self-sustaining populations of lightning bugs, which only need periodic exposure to thunderstorms to keep them healthy and bright. Proceeds will support the senior-year internships in bee hives and ant hills, by funding shrink-ray technology, pheromone stockpiles, and lessons in insect interpretive dance.
