Done This Week
Jul. 28th, 2024 02:28 pmDad got two trips to the ER this week. One because we thought he might have a blood clot in his leg after a small fall (he did not, it’s just a hemotoma). And one because his hemoglobin level appeared to plummet from one day to the next (it did not, it was an illusion created by dehydration because of all the time spent on the first ER trip). That’s on top of the weekly trip for a blood transfusion. And the visit by the home care nurse. And the visit by the palliative care nurse.
I am desperate to get more sleep. I don’t know how to get things done faster in the evening without jettisoning things like playing relaxing games after dinner or reading in bed. Both of which I need, because that’s what allows me to finally unwind enough to try to sleep. But those added to all the other things I need to do mean bedtime is getting later and later. I’m so tired at work that it’s impacting my ability to do my job effectively and safely. ( ╯□╰ )
My friend and coworker took me to lunch on Friday and listened to me barf out all the shit that’s going on at home right now. It was very kind of her. I found a blue jay feather while walking around the building another day. The corn is starting to tassel.
Lewisia: 6 new pieces written, caught up again
Day job: 42.5 hours
Cooking: fudgesicles from the You Suck at Cooking YT channel (the peanut butter version is definitely the way to go, will probably tweak the recipe further), cowboy cookies from Baking Yesteryear again (walnuts and cornflakes thrown in this time, definitely better when allowed to cool so the cornflakes crisp up again)
Gardening: weed whacked specifically to go after the star thistle taking over the driveway area
Listening: Scrapbook Studio by Louie Zong (I really like the work he’s been doing with sampling from vintage and thrifted recordings)
Other: unloaded hay twice
