Today's Keyboard Smash

scrubjayspeaksOkay, I have shaken off my grouchiness, if not my weariness. I had such a deeply acceptable day, I can't object.
Having finished running the current job, I spent the day washing parts, as I expected. No one started it last night, which is great because I trust swing shift as far as I can spit a rat. This started out with sitting quietly by myself, rapidly handwashing bag after bag of parts. I refined my system for this since the last time, so it took me half as long as I anticipated.
Then I got to go to the dryer room, aka Noise Hell, which probably doesn't sound as desirable as it was. I wore both earbuds instead of the evil earplugs that fucked my ear up last time, and I listened to very many podcast episodes. No one else was around to bother me. While the dryer ran for five minutes at a time, I got to sit and stare into space and, as John Mullaney would say, think m' thoughts.
A mix-up was caught at work that didn't end up causing any problems or requiring any extra work, and I didn't get in any trouble for my part in it. Efforts were made by someone else to make it so these parts don't need to be washed in the future, which would be a great mercy.
My dog is feeling much perkier. She seems to be adjusting to the new meds. She's been eating much better.
I discovered I have a good bit more time on some of my library books, so I didn't have to make a special trip into town today to return them after all.
The holiday pseudo-bonus gift card I got from work last week bought me a full tank of gas. There's still enough on the card to get a whole tank again when I need it.
This is approximately as agreeable a work day as I could ask for right now. Oh, and I played Stardew Valley on my breaks. Good.
