Today's Keyboard Smash

This has been a less than ideal 36 hours or so. Mum got her first vaccine dose (yay!) and while she was out, she slipped on some unmarked, freshly mopped flooring and fell. Hit her head, hurt her back, generally rattled her about. She's fine, basically, but still. Very distressing.
I spent about three hours at the end of the shift today beating my head against the brick wall that is my machine having a temper tantrum. Nothing, including help from various parties, made the slightest impact on its mood. They'll keep trying tonight, but I'll likely end up dealing with it in the morning. I skipped a break and spent way too long standing while trying to fix things, so I am sore and tired and discouraged.
And when it was time to leave, Favorite Coworker let me know, ahead of the general announcement to the team, that they will be leaving for another job elsewhere. Which, hey, good for them, they've been trying to find something for a while. They aren't particularly happy here. But this is also the one person at work on whom I can reliably depend to talk to me like a person. To chat with me just for the pleasure of my company. To check up on me if I'm stuck doing something they know I hate. They're very nice, and now they're not going to be there, being nice to me, and I'm very sad.
