scrubjayspeaksFurther podcast reaction posting: I've started listening to the Soothing Stories Podcast, which is the new offering from Thersa Matsuura of Uncanny Japan. (Listening to a bedtime story-type podcast whilst working on a production floor is an irony not lost on me. I am, nonetheless, soothed.) The story today was "Sand Walls, Paper Doors," one of her original short stories. And it was *chef kiss* so perfect.
It's a story about old houses, belonging, and unexpected friendships, with a healthy dose of people rescuing each other in one sense or another. It was perfectly calculated to delight me. Thersa's narration is straightforward, a steady guide through the spooky elements of the story and a nice counterpoint to the soundscaping work.
