One could, in a town with a library as popular as Lewisia's, attend a different book club every night of the week, but most were content with a less demanding schedule. The current best sellers and the classics got their due attention, but the Rare Book Club was perhaps the most close-knit group. They read books on the verge of extinction, ones with only one known copy in the world, and they read aloud rather than have to pass the precious tomes from person to person between meetings.
