While there were plenty of better options available, Lewisia hosted a few vending machines around town for those times when one needed something quick, cheap, and free of social interactions. Most noteworthy was the one set in a small architectural anomaly between the laundromat and the stationery store, which had a rotating stock that changed on a schedule known only to the unseen staff who refilled it twice monthly. People would fondly recollect--sometimes across a span of time that seemed otherwise unlikely for that technology--the best thing they ever purchased from it, but none more so than those who had enjoyed the fortnight of prepackaged live extinct animals.
