Done This Week

scrubjayspeaksHad to get through a visit by a customer, who had asked to see me set up the press. This is not normal, everyone objected, but it steamrolled on ahead regardless. I spent the day in a flop sweat and with shaking hands. It went perfectly, insofar as the customer got to see what they wanted and it all looked exactly right.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, we made just about every mistake we possibly could have, including one that would have been considered moderately catastrophic under other circumstances. By rights, we should have been dead in the water, unable to run any parts for them, and shown to be fools and charlatans. It's just that every problem was something that we could style out, hide from the customer, discard the bad parts afterward, etc.
I'll still be cleaning up the mess (literally) this next week. But damn, some trickster god took pity on my ass and let me dodge every killing blow like a fucking Looney Tunes character.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces, plus another bonus piece written, all of May queued up
Day job: 43.25 hours
Gardening: planted another shade tree and a new manzanita
Listening: Transgender Street Legend Vol. 2 by Left at London (another "I didn't realize I first heard this song on KEXP" discovery, and fuuuuuck I love this album too, was not expecting to be absolutely obliterated by "Choke" but here we are), bought a few more albums for Bandcamp Friday and then got some classics from iTunes
