Once again, doing Whumptober has unlocked something very weird in my unconscious. I am suddenly having intense, unusual dreams every night. Not necessarily in any way connected to the ideas I’m thinking up or writing, but certainly outside my normal roster of recurring dream elements.
This happened last year as well. I’m assuming this says something meaningful about the state of my brain, that putting it through its creative paces like this makes something in it wake up and shake off the dust. I just haven’t figured out if that means this is a good thing to do to myself or not.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces, plus another bonus piece written
Day job: 44.25 hours, and work is drying up such that I might end up taking time off in November and December just because I can
Gardening: garden club post, succulent club meeting
Watching: the local indie theater has been showing the re-release of Stop Making Sense, the Talking Heads concern film, and even having seen it before, it was a completely amazing experience, genuinely love it, so glad to see it on the big screen
Listening: t.i.a.p.f.y.h. by Left At London (the first track is over 10 minutes long, which has made it seem like a much longer album than it is, but it’s “THIS IS A PROTEST FOR YOUR HEART!!!” that has me obsessed)
Aftermarket Parts: four months, and too busy to spend any time on the voice class
Whumptober: 11353 words written across seven fills
