Ice mushroom season is upon us, as frosty caps begin to poke out of the snow around trees. Ice mushrooms are delicious but difficult to cook, though even melted ones impart a lovely flavor to any dish. Their best use, of course, is as the finest source of invisible ink, laden with spores that will fruit and reveal hidden messages under the right circumstances.

Yeah, this one ended up being rather popular. Shaggy ink caps can be used, as the name implies, though they make a black ink, of course.
