scrubjayspeaks: hand holding pen over notebook (done this week)

Well, one way to simplify my life is for my internet service to ONCE AGAIN go out right before a weekend and/or holiday and/or rainstorm ( read: all of the above), thus eliminating even the vague possibility of them repairing it in a timely manner. While I can use my phone with varying levels of success and convenience, I'm not, say, casually binging on YouTube videos, you know?

Regarding last week's musings in tiredness, I'm wondering if it's actually a matter of stimulation. I go from work, where there is constant noise and I'm listening to music while doing things with my hands, to the car where I am still listening to things and doing something with my body, to home where I am...???

I get home and try to get in Tumblr, except I'm actually all peopled out, so more social stimulation is not helpful. And I'm sitting still, which, hey, I AM physically tired, but I basically switch off all awareness of my body at that point. Food gives me something to touch and lots of sensory stimuli, but it's short-lived.

Maybe I should actually be doing craft projects as soon as I get home, more or less, to decompress. Normally that would be an "after dinner if there's time" activity. But maybe my internet chores need to be pushed down to that time slot, after I've had a chance to wind down from the go, go, go of work.

Lewisia: 3 new pieces written

Day job: 44.5 hours, with intense frustration

Cooking: Dutch oven rolls, because I wanted something simple--these are fine, but nothing thrilling

Gardening: soaked mushroom kits as prep for inducing a second flush (hopefully), succulent club meeting

Reading: Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher (oh ho ho, so good, so clever and odd, Bonedog is best dog!)

Listening: mushroom music and late summer by Louie Zong (continuing to chill out with ambient music, also I sing "death cap for cutie" to myself all the time)

Playing: I picked up the Solo But Not Alone 4 bundle of tabletop games (h/t to [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith ) and implemented a self-date game night in Tuesdays, starting with Disciple, a kind of guided meditation/journaling game about finding a patron deity, which I found very soothing

Aftermarket Parts: got through modules 4 and 5 of the voice class by listening in my car on a long drive
