I do not understand people who don't have anxiety, I've decided. Anyone who lacks that particular sort of paranoia just makes no sense to me.

This particular outburst brought to you today by the damn fool in the toolroom who replaced a part on my machine and then didn't check to see if it was in there correctly before returning it. Spoiler alert: it was not. It had to be sent right back again, which meant I got exactly jack shit done today on a job that realistically needs four days of work but is due in just over two. He admitted he should have checked it, which is how I know who to blame and why.

This is the Deeply Cursed Work Order, which has been limping along, breaking daily, for almost two months. At one point, I had a dozen days of attempted production, only three of which actually had any usable parts made on them. Our batting average has not significantly improved since that point. All but one of these failures could be described as "toolroom didn't put it together right" incidents*. And you decided you DIDN'T NEED TO CHECK YOUR WORK?

I am willing to gift a percentage of my anxiety, which makes me check all my work multiple times because maybe I spontaneously forgot how to do my job or basic math, you can't know for sure, to any and all of these dipshits. Maybe then they'll have just a little itch in the back of their heads that says, hm, I should try looking at this work with my eyes open for a minute to see if I'm doing it right. Just for a minute, though--I wouldn't want to get my hopes up too high.

*The exception was last night when they let second shift work on it to try to catch up, and they broke part of it. Because no one should be allowed to touch my stuff, apparently, which even my boss is starting to agree on.
