She covered the windows against the far-off threat of dawn and unplugged all the lamps and all the charging devices that might cast even their tiny status lights around the room. She tried to imagine how this darkness compared to that of the cave system, in which they always seemed to spend their time together, and she tried to imagine what wonders she could show her lover that compared to crystal veins and glowing fruiting bodies. But the winter nights would be long, if she helped them along a bit, and the two of them would have time enough to find wonders together.
