Done This Week
Jan. 7th, 2024 11:53 amHello, 2024, I am going to be brave in you. Please do not kick me down a flight of stairs, thank you. I will be obligated to get back up again anyway, so really, let’s just save ourselves some trouble.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces, plus another bonus piece written, January posts queued
Day job: 36 hours, a short week in which it turned out all the problems had just held themselves back during my vacation, awaiting my return, so the place could blow up under my supervision--it’s nice to be needed, he said through gritted teeth
Cooking: stuffed mushrooms for our New Year’s all-appetizer dinner, processed the Buddha’s hand I finally found (half frozen for savory uses, half candied into what turned into more of a very sweet marmalade), Cabot cheddar soda bread--absolutely phenomenal, used a nice, aged Scottish cheese so it’s got some real flavor to it, turned out more attractive than it had any right to as well
Gardening: ordered seeds--I’m going to festoon the wildflower field with a fresh batch this year, also found a source for true dandelion seeds
Listening: The Best of Me by Rick Astley (I unironically love his music, “Angels on My Side” is real fun)
Aftermarket Parts: received hard copy of medical necessity letter, made first contact with surgeon’s office for a consultation
Other: first session with my new D&D group (largely made up of people from the group I had been gate crashing previously), in which I am no longer the only trans person (woo!) and to whom I am now out (eep!)
